Acknowledgements
There are a few people who have helped substantially in the generation of this book to whom I offer much thanks.
Michael Silverman and L. Christian Balling offered advice and criticism early on that resulted in the expansion of an original article into this present text.
Hazel Long also gave advice and criticism during the later stages of production of the Third Edition.
Jan Mortensen donated hundreds of hours as a transcriptionist during the production of the Third and Fourth Editions. Special thanks.
The following individuals are members of Action Linkage and became involved after completion of the Third Edition.
Bill Holden critiqued the entire book and made several very helpful suggestions.
Stuart Nelson was extraordinarily helpful in the rewriting of Chapter 4. He found several significant inconsistencies and contradictions. This was a particularly difficult chapter to write and is not yet completely free of error, but is much improved from the original version because of his input. To best appreciate his contribution, one could read the Third and Fourth Editions of Chapter 4.
Richard J. Stanewick receives special thanks for donating many hours of time and talent to copy-edit the entire Fourth Edition. Hundreds of grammatical changes were made at his suggestion, thus rendering the book more "reader friendly."
Ward Nicholson designed, typeset, and proofread the entire Fourth Edition prior to publication at one-half his usual fee and also deserves very special thanks.
Don H. Kemner and Fonzy J. Broussard both gave last-minute input that pertained to the religious references in the Preface, and this resulted in alteration of the material presented. Other technical changes were made as well at Don's suggestion.
